Wine

Our family has been producing wine for 4 generations, gaining experience and developing new methods to improve more and more.
Our priorities are quality, authenticity, that all work steps in the vineyards are carried out strictly by hand and respect for the characteristics of the grapes year by year.
We believe that it is very important to maintain native vines to hand down on the flavors of our territory and produce wines with a single type of blend in order to fully appreciate the typical flavor of each type of grape. We produce five different types of grapes:Sangiovese, the king of the Tuscan grape used for Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano and many other famous wines. With the Sangiovese we produce two red wines: our Arduino Chianti D.O.C.G. and our Cesare Chianti Riserva D.O.C.G.; and one rosé wine: Donna Palmira vino rosato I.G.T., produced with just red grapes thanks to a short maceration of 18 hours and a cold fermentation.White Malvasia, a tuscan variety used to produce our Gorpe vino bianco I.G.T.Merlot, the only french variety we own. In Tuscany many farms use the french grapes in a blend with the Sangiovese to produce Chianti, in this farm we don't blend it to have a Chianti with a full tuscan flavor. The Merlot is used to produce ou Tuscan Merlot I.G.T.Black Malvasia and Canaiolo are the last kind of grape we own. Right know we are still busy experimenting the right aging for these wines which will be ready for the selling in the next year.
We also produce one Vin Santo del Chianti D.O.C.G. A typical tuscan dessert wine. This wine is the only blended one. Don Romolo is a mix of our best bunches of Sangiovese grape and White Malvasia grape, dried in our drying room for three months before the pressing and then aged in old caratelli, small barrels in tuscan oak.
